Printed photographs hold the power to let precious moments live on, to give a sense of belonging, to draw out emotion.
They have the power to document a story. Your story.
Printed photographs are ever-present reminders of what is most important in our lives.
A score of music is simply notes on a page; an orchestra playing that score creates an atmosphere – elicits undeniable emotion. The presence of a printed photograph is exactly the same.
An image in the digital world, is easily scrolled past, or swiped away & forgotten. As a print, your photograph becomes tangible – part of the real world. It becomes a part of your life & reminds you of precious emotions that aren’t always drawn out when we scroll past them. Printing our photos brings precious moments back into our lives & makes them real & easily accessible.
Printed photos will be appreciated every day – they will last a lifetime & will be heirlooms passed down from generation to generation. None of us know what computers will look like in years to come. Already most don’t own a CD drive! Imagine the joy your grandchildren will have one day as they sit and look at their family history – the story of where they have come from.
Dr David Kraus, Ph.D., a psychologist, author & pioneer in Photo Therapy says, “I think it is really important to show a family as a family unit. It is so helpful for children to see themselves as a valued and important part of that family unit.”
Judy Weiser, Founder & Director of the PhotoTherapy Centre in Vancouver, Canada – and author of dozens of professional articles as well as the classic Book about PhotoTherapy – says children “learn their genealogy and the the uniqueness of their own family and its story. When a child sees a family portrait with them included in the photograph they say to themselves: ‘These people have me as part of what they are, that’s why I belong here. This is where I come from.”
I so believe in the printed image that I include complementary 6″ x 4″ prints in each of my packages – printed on professional, archival photo paper, ensuring that you receive the highest quality, long lasting prints. My hope is that these will enable you to visualise what your images will look like as art in your home.
After your shoot, I will send you a visualisation of a couple of your images as wall art. I work with highly professional printers & framers from which we can select the best products to display your images in your home.
Don’t make the mistake of investing money, time & effort into a photoshoot & then leave the images in a drawer or ‘lost in the cloud’ somewhere! Those family photos on your wall could be your most priceless works of art!
